Why Hire a Certified Sitter from the Certified Sitter Society?

Ever feel like the babysitter might be running you rather than the other way around? The Certified Sitter Society is here to change that by training babysitters to be the babysitter you used to be (if you were a great babysitter that is!).

Upskilled

Have you come home to a disaster of a house to find your sitter looking at their phone while your kids run amuck? A CSS certified sitter has not only been trained on how to take care of your child but also how to take stress off of the parent by making sure the house is tidied up, kids are where they should be, and house rules are being followed.

Nutrition and Education Focused

Just walked in from a long day of work to find your kids sitting in front of the TV eating what appears to be their 7th packaged snack 30 minutes before dinner? Here at CSS we want our sitters to reach for fresh over packaged and encourage imaginative play over screens (after all, those are reserved for us parents so we can get a break). A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist teaches the sitters how to safely and healthfully feed kids of all ages. Also best practices including timing of meals to prevent hangry kids filled with junk food, what a healthy plate should look like, what to do with picky eaters, and how to make food more fun. A masters in the art of teaching for a focus on early education trains the sitters on what are age appropriate activities to increase creativity and learning. Activities based on weather and time of day will also be a topic discussed. Get outside if its nice out!

Safety Trained

A certified sitter will be trained in CPR and knowledgable about sleep safety, food safety, proper baby equipment use, proper supervision (if you see a sharp object nearby, put it out of reach! or don’t leave a rolling baby on a couch if you have to run to the restroom!),

Professionalism

While we will train these sitters to think and do more than the normal sitter, they will also understand that house rules are the ones they should follow over anything else. They will know the questions to ask, the importance of being on time, appropriately dressed for the job, take their job seriously, and treat the kids and parents with respect.
